STEEP Hill... COOL Cave

Up Sinks Canyon there is a cave I told Steve I wanted to hike up to when we first moved here. We just haven't gotten to it either becuase we were busy fishing and didn't have time once we were done or Steve didn't want to :-) After school today, we were going up the canyon to hike a trail we love to walk and decided to hike to the cave!! Thanks Steve for coming with me... your the best!!!!

The cave is hard to see in this picture, but it is up there a ways for sure :-)

We threw a rock into the cave a ways back so we didn't come up to any cave dwelling animals. We did see some bats though.

There is our car... the little white speck down below!!

This is our new vehicle... We have had it for a couple months. It's a Dodge Journey. We love a good lookin' crossover!!

Happy Mother' s Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms, Grandma's, and future Mom's!!!

Saturday morning I decided to get up early and drive to Rock Springs to surprise Steve! He had Saturday off so I thought it would be fun to hang out for a day. We went and looked at houses to buy and places to rent. We also went to a movie called 17 Again. I think Zac Efron is sooooo cute!! It was a cute show. Then we went to Sonic during happy hour and got fruit shushes. I love Sonic happy hour :) Later on we also went out to dinner with Curt and Cathy in Rock Springs and had fun visiting with them.

I was going to head back Sunday morning to Lander because Steve had to work and about 8:30 he called and invited me to a Mother's Day breakfast him and the guys were going to make for their families. One of the guys had it all planned; so anyways I didn't go home right away :) They did a great job and we all had a fun time. I really enjoyed meeting everyone. I am going to like living there. We have all the firemen and their wives on the lookout for the perfect home for us in the prefect location... they are too funny! Firemen have connections like nobody's business. They are learning quickly we are cheap though :)

We were all glad the alarm didn't go off during the wonderfully planned breakfast and the guys got to stay the whole time. At about 12:30 the alarm went off and there they went, but they had gotten the place cleaned up and everything before they had to leave. It worked out really well.

Wyoming Fans??

What do you think? I think so :) Steve and I were going to eat lunch together today and ran into this car when we were driving down the street. Thought I would share... too funny!! I love it!

Pistol Pete is looking good!!!

A couple weekends ago we went to Greybull and got to ride my parents horse Nina...

We also got to see Lindsey and the girls and all went to Doug and Erica’s!! It was so fun!! We also got to hang with my little brother Mike. He is done with another semester at BYU and is now working in Denver for the summer. All the pics are on my new cell phone and I haven't figured out how to get the pics transferred... I will though!!

Steve went back to Rock Springs today :( He was home Mon. and went back today. It hardly felt like I got to see him because he was home during the week and I have to work, but that is how it goes. I love having him home and hate to see him go, but he is loving his new job!!

Confession

I use warm/hot water to brush my teeth… it has to be warm or the bubbles don’t sud enough in my mouth.

I have to have my back tickled at night in order to go to sleep… otherwise I just lay there and can’t relax enough to go to sleep; my mind just races… I love you Steve; you’re the best husband in the WORLD!!!

I love to sing and dance around the house when I am the only one home.

I was the
"sexy wink" champion in high school. My friends and I had a competition and I laugh at all the time we put into practicing for the big event. We had judges and a scoring rubric too … way too funny. My brother got 2nd... the talent must run in the family :-) I have never laughed so hard in my life!!!!!

I love Pink (the singer not the color).
"So what... I am a rockstar; I got my rock moves...

"I am a hoodie sister… meaning I love hooded sweatshirts… I AM OBSESSED!!! Who else is a hoodie sister with me???!!

In our spare time together, Steve and I practice perfecting the worm.

I have what I call Fact of the day and tell Steve and some of my friends.I love finding out the really weird, random, and funny facts that are out there…. Did you know that a cockroach can live 9 days after his head has been cut off??!!

I can’t stand a messy house. Dishes in the sink, clothes on the floor, mail/paper on counters and table, and shoes randomly all over the house especially bug me.

I think everyone resembles an animal and I love picking everyone’s animal out for them (it isn’t mean… it is just the truth; we all resemble one of the animals out there in the world). Steve has gotten into helping me at times. I have met people and when I find out they do the same thing I get a kick out of it!! Lately, I have been so busy I haven’t done it in a while. I am going to need to bring that game back. It is fun!!! Brenda Casey… are you with me (I think you would be good at this game)?? !!

I love Nike Shocks!!

I love black coats… I love colors too, but a black coat is always looks more classy!!

I totally jam out to music (singing and using the steering wheel as my drum) when I am driving in my car.

I LOVE new socks… they just make the day all better!!!!

I love to sit and read a good book… this just happened a year ago. I really never read for fun before. I was missing out!!

I have picked my nose while sitting at a stop light and was totally embarrassed when I noticed the people in the car next to me cracking up and laughing at me. I know I’m not the only one who has ever done it. Stop lights bread nose pickers :-) To prove this, when I was visiting my sister Tami( when she lived in Ft. Collins), we decided to keep track. By the end of the weekend when I left, we were at 64 and counting!!!!

March 12, 2005

March 12th, 2005 Steve asked me to marry him!!!! The pictures above were taken after our date when we went to tell my parents we were engaged. We had a date planned that night. I had lots of homework to finish and also wanted to clean my room, bathroom, etc. I told Steve to give me the day to get all my work done and I could go out at night. He secretively called my dad earlier in the afternoon and they met. Steve asked my father for his blessing and told him he was going to ask me to marry him. I thought my dad was at the church getting his clerk work done, but he wasn't I found out later. They both had me fooled :-)

Steve came to pick me up and we went out to dinner. He then took me up Casper Mountain. It started to snow really bad that day... another one of those wonderful went spring snow storms. He had to somewhat adjust his plans at the last minute to make it work... I found that out later. We drove up to the falls in the deep snow. Good thing his car could make it... the Maxima was tough… the tires were spinning in spots though.

When we got there I said "What are we doing? Is this a good idea?" He parked and had gathered all my snow gear somehow earlier in the day. He had everything from my coat, to hat, gloves, and snow boots. He was prepared. It was pretty cold and still snowing, but very beautiful in the mountain snow. We hiked up to the falls in the deep snow together. We were the only ones there :-) and enjoyed the nice hike together. We talked for a while and later headed back to the car. When we were close to the car he pulled out the ring, said some amazing words... I wish I could have written the whole speech down... and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES!!!! He then pulled out beautiful flowers from the trunk of his car and gave them to me.

Even though the weather didn't cooperate with his original plan, he had decided today was the day and he wasn't waiting any longer. I still remember the look in his eye and I will never forget it.
I love you Steve!!!!

Spring Break 2009

Spring Break was this week... I went and visited my sister Toni and her family in Worland and had a great time. I love you guys!! I also went to Greybull and stayed with my parents. It is always nice to go home to visit my parents and I am always greateful for the wonderful food. I love my mom's cooking!!! I got to see Lindsey and the girls too...

This is how Cloe and Dakota like to watch cartoons.. front and center...TOO cute!!

This is our new niece Paige Brooklyn Casey ... she is so adoreable!!!

This is soooooo funny... It is Cloe's "super bark" :-)

I also got to go hang out with Erica and Ren for the afternoon until the boys got home from school/ track practice. They got out rockband...Ren and Wes are ROCKSTARS!!!!!

Thursday I headed to the beloved Rock Springs to hang out with Stevo. Of course,we went to eat at the Wonderful House. Firefighter Casey :-)

Not every little boy who says they are going to be a fireman when they grow up gets to be one (Aunt Melea).

This comes with being married to a firefighter... he has to have a set of bunker gear at home and one at work.

Steve has been doing all sorts of training. He has to put his gear on in under 1 minute and his captain will randomly say "go" and he has to stop what he is doing and go put his gear on that is laid out by the fire truck. He practiced using the jaws of life on an old car they brought in for him. He has to work out for an hour every shift and has been retraining on force able entry, ventilation, and fire behavior. He also was training on the ladder truck. I wish I could of had a picture of him on the ladder at the top when it was all the way stretched out. Those fire truck ladders stretch 75 ft. in the air :-) Glad that is him!! Steve has to do a lot of studying on his time off and at night and takes one of his big tests Thursday... Good Luck Steve!!!!!
