Cub Scouts

I help with cub scouts now and it has been fun. We do it as a stake so we have about 30 scouts. Last week we made tool boxes out of wood. This week we took them on a hike on the green belt by the river. We had a lot of fun running, throwing rocks into the river, and kicking ant hills. We also had fun getting into a water fight. It just isn't the same if the water doesn't get poured everywhere! We also had fun racing to see which group took the fastest road. There were a lot of dirt roads that connected back together, so I made a game out of it and the trick was to take the short cut and win. Then we played tag once we got back to the baseball fields. I had to make a rule that there had to be two people tagged in between tagging me because it was gang up on the leader! We had a lot of fun. I love 8 year old boys. They are so excited about everything and don’t leave anyone out at this age. They all have fun together and don’t have their little group of friends yet. They are all friends!

Weekend in C Town

On Friday, after school we went to the high school soccer game. My best friends little brother was playing for Kelly Walsh and we always have him call us when his games are here. Steve also got to support the kids he teaches. We had fun getting to see our family friends from Casper. After the soccer game, we drove to Casper. Steve had to take the PRAXIS exam. He will graduate with his diploma, but in order to qualify to teach in Wyoming, he has to pass that test. We are thinking positive and hope he did well, but we won't find out for at least 4 weeks the outcome.

This weekend my parents also put us to work helping them get the house ready to move. We painted and packed up the food storage. Boy what a task, but it is neat the food storage they do have:) We also moved furniture and helped get the house ready to show. The house won't be put on the market until June 1st, but there is a lot of work to get ready for that date!! We also had some family friends over for dinner Saturday night. We had a fun weekend!

My Cuddle Bear...

Last night we were at our friend's birthday party. After the party Steve went to play basketball and I stayed at the party. We play at the church every Thurs. night and we have a lot of fun together. I came home later on after Steve was done playing and I found him like this. I had to grab the camera. I guess he found someone else to cuddle with since I wasn't there! Anyways, Steve I love you and appreciate all your hard work. You are the BEST!!

Teach, Teach, Teach all day long!!!

Look at that handwriting. He's a good teacher all ready!!
Steve is finishing up student teaching. He has two weeks left of teaching and he graduates in 3 weeks. He can't wait. He teaches World History, American History, and Sociology at the high school. He looks like a pro already! Steve was excited because he actually got paid today for teaching. His mentor teacher coaches track and they were gone today for a track meet so he gets paid to be the sub; even though he teaches every class everyday:)

The JOB search

We had Monday and today off because we were going to the Teacher Job Fair in Laramie. The roads were closed all day yesterday from Rawlins to Laramie. We couldn't even go the long way around because the roads were closed form Casper to Laramie. We were really hoping this trip would help us know what we were going to do with our lives, but we didn't even get to go. There was going to be other schools from other states there. We know about the jobs in Wyoming, but wanted to know our options elsewhere. It is always better to be safe. I was really looking forward to seeing our friends, so I was pretty bummed all around! I didn't get called to sub and Steve was back to school since we really didn't go. He was bummed about that too:(
