Recent happenings...

Steve has been in the paper a few times and is our town hero:) I don't have the others (becuase we don't get the paper), but Cathy has been cutting them out for us...thanks Cathy!!

On Saturday, we were in the Rock Springs parade. Josh and Becca invited us to join their Wyoming Fan bus and show our Cowboy pride. We were in the bus and waved and walked alongside the bus tossing out candy to the parade viewers. Of course, everyone showed off their best chanting as we walked by the judges:) Lots of fun... thanks for inviting us Josh and Becca!! It was our first experience getting to ride in the infamous bus and it was definitely awesome!! I didn't get any parade action shots, but mabye Becca did??

Steve as been busy working overtime shifts and studying so he can go take the test and get his CDL. He got to drive the ladder truck last week... he thought that was pretty cool :)

We went golfing again on Friday and I was attacked by May flies. All of a sudden it felt like I had a million little pricks on my neck, arms, back, legs, head, etc. They were everywhere!!!! I have seen May flies many many times before and haven't had this happen. I wanted to run and jump into water it was so bad. I started screaming trying to get them all off, but they were tiny and crawling everywhere. Steve thought I was over reacting until he came over and saw them all over me and helped swat them off. I don't know what I walked into or why they chose to attack me and not Steve (Steve said it was because I had a white shirt, but I don't think that is why), but the people around us probably thought I was a girl who isn't outside much (like the lady in the movie Parent Trap that the dad about marries) jk! But it was really bad and I wasn't over reacting. We swatted all the tiny biting suckers off of me... it did take a bit... and I walked swiftly the rest of the time golfing to keep them off of me. I still had a few little bites here and there, but not like the first attack. Good thing we were on the 7th hole :)

Greybull Visit

We went to Greybull this Monday -Thursday to visit my sister Tami and her kids. They are in Greybull visiting my parents... she lives in New Hampshire so it is a real treat when we get to see her!! We had a lot of fun playing with the kids! We got to go to swimming lessons and to the park. I also gave all three boys a haircut. They don't sit as still as Steve when I cut his hair, so I had to adjust to the wiggles :) Tami likes Karsten's hair longer so I gave my first long hair cut too... I think it turned out ok :)

They loved when Uncle Steve read them their bedtime story, said night prayers, and sang them their song before he tucked them in. I personally loved hearing the song. They have to have a song sang to them before they can go to bed :)

We also got to see Brent and Lindsey several times!! We love getting to see them too!! Brent and Steve went paintballing (look at those studs) and they had some sick battle wounds when it was all over. We also all got to go to Doug and Erica's house for dinner on Monday before they left for the Jensen Reunion camping in the Big Horn Mountains. It is always a blast to go to their house.

My beautiful neice Briseis (20 months)

Alec (6yrs old)

Karsten (3 years old) and Christian (9 years old) Watching TV...
we also played a lot on the trampoline. They love it!

Karsten (3 years old)

His scary face :) It was so funny... he kept making his scary face and saying... argggg...
They will be here for awhile so we will definately have to go back for more fun!!
My parents are adding an addition onto the front of the house so we were woken up by loud pounding and other noises. We also got to listen to Spanish music all day :) It should be finished by the end of August. It is looking great!!

Where Does Your Treasure Lie?

An old fairy tale tells the story of a mother who learns the hard way what her treasure really is.

While out in the forest picking strawberries with her young daughter, a mother discovers a large cave filled with golden treasure that is guarded by three maidens. Told she can have as much gold as she can hold, the mother releases her child's hand to gather the gold coins in her apron.

In shock she discovers that by choosing the gold she has fortified her child's company for 1 year.

When the mother returns to the cave the following year, she sees the maidens, the gold, and her child. Again the maidens tell her she can have as much gold as she can carry, but the mother runs eagerly to her child and enfolds the child in her arms.

"Take the little one home; the maidens tell the mother, "For now your love is greater than your desires."--Virginia Jensen 2001 Women's Conference

The savior taught us about priorities when He said,
"Lay not for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and thieves break through and steal. But lay upon yourselves treasures in Heaven... for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (3Nephi 13:19-20)

This was the FHE lesson Steve prepared this week and we discussed our treasure and where our priorities lie. Then we both wrote 5 things we love about each other and shared them with one another. Really great lesson Steve and very important to be continually evaluating... love you!!

Thought I would share with you all :)
