Yesturday's Anniversary Events

Steve bought me flowers (orange is my favorite color in roses) and laid them in a trail throughout the house before he left for work, so I woke up to a trail of beautiful flowers.

We went out to dinner at the Hitching Rack and Steve got a steak and I ordered halibut. It was a very good meal and we had fun.
Here we are after our fun date!! Stevo is the greatest!!

More exploring

Earlier this week we went on a hike past Worthern Meadow Lake to this lake. Steve remembers hiking here as a kid to fish with his family. He said this was the exact rock he remembers fishing off of.

We followed another trail along the river which is also another great fishing place. It had a lot more mosquitoes though.
Now, this rock makes us laugh. It is the marker we look for so we know which road to turn on to get to my cousins house up Sinks Canyon. Too funny! Wonder what we call it?

Sinks Canyon and Worthern Meadow Lake

We saw this big horn sheep on our way to go fishing. He was still there when we went home hours later!

We both caught a fish right off the bat and then never caught another. I figure they spread the word to their fish friends to stay away. The next night we hiked to another lake above Worthern Meadow Lake. It was a shorter hike than I thought….only about a mile. It was beautiful!! We are having fun exploring the countryside.Tonight we are fly-fishing in the Popo Aggie River that runs by our house.

POWWOW

We went to the Arapahoe powwow this last Friday night with our family friends Marsha, Butch and their son Jeff. It was fun and neat to see a real powwow. The dancing competitions were really neat. They have different categories: men and women traditional, men’s fancy dance, men’s grass dance, women’s jingle dance, and women’s fancy shawl dance. For each dance there is an appropriate outfit to wear also.

First they all raise the flags and open with a prayer given by the grandfather. Then they start by all dancing

This was our favorite dancer. He was awesome.

Finally moved in !!!

Here is our new home. We are in a trailer court right next to the river. It is a 2009, so it is brand new. It took longer than expected at first to move in because it is new and water, electricity, etc had to be installed form the beginning and it took longer than it was supposed to (that is normal, but became frustrating.) We moved to Lander in July 15th and officially spent our first night in the trailer on the 25th. We stayed with some family friends while we were waiting to have water and electricity to get hooked up. Shout out to the Egger Family for all their help!!!! Thank you soooo much!!

Necklace for ransom :)

Brenda,

If you ever want to see your pretty necklace again, you need to give us a double batch of Brenda cookies!! Make sure to come alone and there will be no tampering with the cookies or you won't want to find what will happen to your favorite necklace!!

In all seriousness,

Ruth and Steve

Dinner with Georgia

This is my friend Georgia from the retirement center. We had her over for dinner and I made spaghetti and red lobster rolls with salad. She requested it and said spaghetti is her favorite. We had a fun evening eating on the deck and visiting.
