Firefighter Casey saves 2 lives...

Steve saved 2 lives on Wednesday!! Does it count that it was 2 cats stuck in a tree??!! A couple of dogs chased the cats up a HUGE tree so the owners called 911 for some help because their ladders weren't long enough to reach by far (I thought this kind of call only happened in the cartoons, but apparently not!) Steve climbed the ladder on the ladder truck to get the 2 cats safely down. He said the tree forked and the fat cat was stuck in the V of the tree with its legs kicking frantically and the little baby cat was standing on top of the stuck fat cat...LOL! He got the little cat to safety and tried to get the fat cat out. He had to tug and tug because it was so stuck in the V of the tree :) He finally gave it one more big pull and the cat was free of the tree yelping and scratching the whole way!

They have a fire station camera they take for times such as these, but Amy (the woman firefighter) got the camera out and it was out of batteries :( So we don't have any action shots of Steve saving lives, but cool story anyways!

Casey Reunion- Big Horn Mountains

This year the Casey family reunion was camping in Big Horn Mountains!! My favorite place to be!! Because of our wonderful friends Josh and Becca I rode up to the mountain last Friday the 7th to begin in on the fun. They have the best traveler kidos and they were the best back seat buddies I have ever had :) They were very generous sharing their snacks :) The first night I slept in the Sorenson's camper trailer. We got to go to dinner and have Erica as our waitress... best ever btw!!! I had a lot of fun with Doug, Erica, Josh, and Becca!! Thanks for everything guys!!

Steve was working and couldn't come camping until the following Tuesday. The campers headed home Thursday, but Steve and I stayed for one more night alone together. We went fishing at Shell Lake, on Shell Creek below the dam, and Lake Adelaide. At night after dinner, we had an unsuspected visitor come to camp... a big bull moose!!! It was near dark so the pictures weren’t the best ever, but he stayed by camp for an hour before leaving. He crossed the river into our camp and was 10 yards away grazing for food for ever. He didn't mind we were there and even let us get pictures in. So we sat by the fire and watched the moose 10 yards away for our night’s entertainment :)

Lake Adelaide fishing...

Camping with the Casey's...

Gotta love Cameron's mustashe :)

Cameron proudly demonstrating his ability to tie his shoes:)

Cookout with Casey's, Jensen's, and Sorensen's... FUN times had by all!!

This was soooo cute! They sat in line waiting their turn to bat :)

Lounging in the Sorensen's amazing camping chairs!! Laid back!!

Fishing at Casey's pond... I thought this pic is classic. All the men fising without a kid in sight. Attention spans for kids are short :) It seems after a couple casts they are uninterested... But thses guys are a great help and the kids had a lot of fun fishing.
Casey's pond is named after Steve's great uncle Frank. He was a forest ranger and built the kid fishing pond.

The tie die crew!! Cute!

The Darren and Brenda bunch!

We had some great fishing trips, campfire games, meals, and family time. My family (parents and sister Tami and kids) was able to visit Wednesday night. We played campfire games and roasted marsh mellows. I forgot to take pics, but it was sooo great that they came!!!

Thanks soooo much to Curt and Cathy for making the camping trip so great. You put in a lot of work to make the family reunion amazing!! We appreciate all that you do!!
Video of our visitor... kind of hard to see since it was almost dark and moose are black!

Tribute to a good friend

My friend Georgia Kruse passed away last night. I met Georgia a few years ago when I was working in Green River at the convalescent home and we were great friends ever since. When I moved to Lander we wrote letters back and forth to keep in touch. I would visit anytime we were in Green River to catch up and then when we moved here to Rock Springs this summer we had a friend date every week. She was a good friend and we always enjoyed our time together. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses. We enjoyed going to lunch and taking walks on the path by the river. She got really sick this last week and it took her quick, but I know she is happy now. I will never forget our wonderful time together and our great friendship. She always had great stories and taught me so much. I love you Georgia!!!
