What we've been up to...

I have lost my camera...hence the long break from posting...so I made my camera phone more useful until I can find it!

Things we've been up to...

1. Put up our fence...with the help of our wonderful friends! THANKS SO MUCH to those who chipped in equipment and your valuable time...we really appreciate it!!! I LOVE it!

2. Put our shed together. We bought a kit where all the pieces came pre-cut and we had to put it together. I really enjoyed this project...Steve and I had fun building it! We still have to put the shingles on...

3. Another craft.... My friend Melinda organizes a craft each month and this was our most recent. She bought the blocks from The Wood Connection and then we painted and decorated them.

4. School... Steve finished his EMT Basic course this semester and has been in Riverton at the Fire Academy last week and this week for Hasmat training. He took his test and got a 100%! Way to go Stevo...they have been doing Chemistry so he has had to really focus and go way back in his memory bank :) I am taking classes to finish my Adapted PE Endorsement. I have 3 classes left so I am taking one this summer and 2 in the fall.

5. New door mat and Potted Flowers! I bought this great pot and got some flowers in it finally! The rule of thumb around here is to wait to plant flowers around Memorial Day. My friend Jen and I did it yesterday... it was just so warm and I just couldn't wait...so I am a little early and hope they are alright and there is warm weather! (I don't have pics of Jen's, but she has very beautiful flowers in pots on her porch and on her back  patio!!) We had fun potting the flowers...thanks Jen!

6. School is almost out and I can't wait for SUMMER!!!

Next things on our list to get done...
-finishing touches on the fence
-put shingles on the shed
-get more dirt to level out our back yard
-sprinklers and grass! I can't wait!! This has all got put off for 2 weeks since Steve has been gone to class, but we'll pick right back up on the yard work once he gets back. I enjoy yard work and being outside so I love when it gets to be this time of year (when it's nice outside and not a blizzard that is) :) !!!

My little brother is ENGAGED!!!

This last Saturday my brother asked Ashley to marry him! He took her to a beautiful park and had a picnic...they "accidently" ran into some friends. His two friends are in the photography program at BYU and said the needed more couples photos for the portfolio for their finals this week. They took pics around the park for their “portfolio”. Then they left and hid in the back ground and got pics of the whole proposal! What a great idea :)… have friends hiding in the background getting pics of the whole thing!! CUTE!

Officially Official...Probation NO MORE!!

It's official! Steve is no longer a "pro b" firefighter! After working for the Rock Springs Fire Department for one year today, they had a badge ceremony for him this afternoon at the station. He got his badge and name plate...it was a big day for him! SO EXCITING!

2 Latest Crafts...

I made the blocks for our entryway table... I LOVE how they turned out! Check out the website...  http://www.thewoodconnection.com/ ...there are SO many cute block sayings! I also made my first diaper cake for a friends baby shower next week. Luckily I had Jen's help with both since I have never done either!! Oh...and that is our new kitchen table! I LOVE the bench and that it seats 6!! It's funny what we get excited about as we get older :)! Plus me being crafty is a stretch, but it was really fun!


Latest news...
I was called to Primary President about a month ago now so I have been pretty busy, but absolutely LOVING every minute of it!!!

Steve had the day off yesterday... there was a big fire here last night so he got called into work to sit with a cop at the fire all night after it got put out to make sure no one came on the scene. It was too late and dark to investigate and it was considered a crime scene because it was possible arson. He is pretty tired at work today I am sure since he had to stay awake all night and make sure no one came on to the property.

Fun Times...

This last weekend my sister came to visit on her way through to Utah!!! I love my sister! We had TONS of FUN!!

I forgot I took these pics until I just uploaded ones from this weekend, but had to post them because they are too cute. I got to babysit Tyler and Kayden and we had fun jumping on the bed, playing hide and go seek, and playing the guitar...Kayden is a fun kid! When we were jumping on the bed he said "take a picture of my high jumps"...too cute! He was trying so hard to show his best skills! Sorry Kayden... my pic doesn’t show your best skills. My flash was too slow :)

This was one of our conversations:) It started becuase he said something about his grandpa...

Me- Where does your grandpa live?

Kayden- Um...I don't know...he works.

Me-What does he do at work?

Kayden- Eats lunch.

Too funny! I love asking kids questions. They see their world so differently and it is too cute!!

He literally played the guitar for 45 min!! Can you tell he likes it?! I turned on my iPod and we played a ton of songs with our guitars "just like the music" as he put it :)

Recent happenings...

This week Steve's brothers' family came to visit! We loved having the company...it was tons of fun! I had to work during the day, but Steve and Brent got to go play racquetball and everyone had fun swimming too.

A while back, on an earlier post, I forgot to post this pic when family went to check out Steve's work...it was too cute not to post so sorry for all the fire pics...I just forgot to add my cute little nephew...he was so excited to try everything on!! It was so funny to watch him try to walk around...he would shuffle around and then tip over and we'd have to stand him back up becuase he couldn't move...too cute :)

This is just a random pic... I just thought it was funny. Steve was playing with Mr. Cawas and his tool set when we were at Brook and Jen's. He looks oh so good with Carter's safety glasses! :) I just missed getting a pic of Cawas wearing them...he wouldn't put them back on for the pic:)...oh well...next time! He usually pulls them down off his eyes and wears them over his nose and mouth because he can't see out of them...it's too cute to watch him play so intently with them halfway down his face:)

New Years Eve at Jen and Brook's house...we had TONS of fun playing rock band and card games! Everyone made such wonderful food too!
